Discontinuation of negotiations with Wiley

The negotiations between swissuniversities and the publisher Wiley, which had been ongoing for nearly a year, have failed to reach a new Read & Publish (R&P) agreement that satisfies both parties. Further details on the negotiations can be found on the swissuniversities website.

Since no R&P contract has been in place since January 1, 2025, both aspects (Read & Publish) will have various impacts on the UNIGE and HUG communities.

Access to Wiley journals

Access to articles published after January 1, 2025, will soon be cut off. Access to articles published through the end of 2024 is expected to remain available under the terms of the previously negotiated licenses with the publisher.

You will find on this page a selection of alternative legal access options for content that will not or no longer included in our subscriptions is available online. Free document requests are also possible through interlibrary loan for the entire UNIGE and HUG community. Publishing in Wiley Journals

Article Processing Charges (APCs) for hybrid or Gold Open Access journals are no longer covered by the Library or the Open Access Publication Fund. In line with swissuniversities’ recommendations to higher education institutions, the University also advises researchers to limit their publications with Wiley.
