Welcome days 2025

Welcome to UNIGE Library !
Welcome Days is a warm and festive week during which new students receive all the information they need to prepare for their first semester in the best possible conditions. This year, Welcome Days will take place from Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12. The day for exchange students will be on Friday, September 12.
The Library is participating in this pre-term week with several activities:
- INFORMATION STAND in the Uni Dufour lobby: we will answer all your questions! Monday, September 8, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- CAMPUS TOURS including a visit to a Library reading room: campus tours with advanced students in small groups to discover the main campus buildings, including the area where the collections in your field of study are located. Several tours are organized each day.
>> Registration is done directly on the Welcome Days platform, depending on your faculty: https://2025.welcomedays.ch/
- LIBRARY TOURS (excluding campus visits) in English: these tours are organised on Friday.

- SWISSCOVERY WORKSHOPS: swisscovery UNIGE is the catalog that provides access to all printed (books, journals, newspapers, etc.) and digital (e-books, electronic journals, databases, etc.) documents offered by the University of Geneva Library. These sessions, reserved primarily for new students, will familiarize you with this tool so that you can get the most out of it. You will also discover the range of services available through the Swiss academic library network SLSP (Swiss Library Service Platform). From Monday, September 8, in the afternoon, to Friday, September 12: at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Uni Mail, in room MR030. Session in English will take place on Friday at 14:00-14:45, Uni Mail, MR030
