The University of Geneva negotiates agreements with publishers in order to offer advantageous conditions of publication in Open Access for the institution's researchers. You will find below, in alphabetical order of publisher, an overview of the current deals and, where applicable, their terms and conditions.

Publication costs are not covered for the 270+ titles on the second tab of this list (Lancet, Cell Press, and Learned Society journals).

License

The author may choose a CC BY 4.0 ou CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license.

Procedure

Only articles submitted after 1 January 2020 are eligible.

The recognition of the corresponding author is based on the affiliation reported on the publisher's platform, but also on the email address @unige.ch or @hcuge.ch.

Once identified, the author chooses the "Gold Open Access" option (decision of the rectorate), then selects, at the next step, the "CC BY" or "CC BY-NC-ND" license (see Illustration below).

Worldwide consortium of libraries for the transformation of Particle Physics journals to Open Access. Since 2014

No specific author's action is required to benefit from this deal. Payment of APCs to the publisher is done directly by SCOAP3.

Fonds d'aide à la publication
Description

The University Rectorate has set up a central fund to cover part of the cost of publishing (Article Processing Charges or APCs) in Gold Open Access journals, or for books and books chapters that follow similar principles. Since 2018

Conditions

The fund can only be used on a subsidiary basis to the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), and never covers charges linked with publishing in hybrid journals. All details and allocation critera are listed on the request application form page.
