GEMEP Corpus

The GEneva Multimodal Emotion Portrayals (GEMEP) is a collection of audio and video recordings featuring 10 actors portraying 18 affective states, with different verbal contents and different modes of expression. It was created in Geneva by Klaus Scherer and Tanja Bänziger, in the framework of a project funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (FNRS 101411-100367) and with support of the European Network of Excellence "Humaine" (IST-2002-2.3.1.6 Multimodal Interfaces, Contract no. 507422). Rating studies and objective behavioral analyses are also currently funded by Project 2 and the Methods module of the Swiss Affective Science Center Grant (FNRS).

OBTAINING GEMEP FOR RESEARCH PURPOSES

 

The 145 audio-video files of the GEMEP Core Set are available for research purposes free of charge. In order to obtain the GEMEP Core Set

  1. Download , print, & fill in the general conditions of use.
  2. Mail the original signed form together with a short description of your project to:

            CISA, Campus Biotech, 9 chemin des Mines, CH-1202 Genève

       3. If you want a faster access to the files, you can send the signed form and the project description to ERI-cisa(at)unige.ch

 

Once we have approved your request, we will share the GEMEP Core Set files with you. Please note that we reserve the right to decline a request to use GEMEP in case your planned project corresponds exactly to a study that is currently ongoing or planned in the near future at our research center.
