Military Service

The mission of the Army-University Liaison Office is to resolve difficulties that may arise for students in connection with their military obligations and their academic program.

A hardship is defined as any situation that creates a delay that cannot be made up and that would cause the student to lose a semester or a year of study. This includes periods of service that coincide with examination sessions, provided that registration for these sessions is registered. However, a repetition course during a semester can only be taken into consideration in certain particularly justified cases.

The Liaison Office seeks to resolve these problems by requesting a shift (permutation) of service within the same year. In some cases, the repetition course will be cancelled and will have to be made up at a later date.

It is important to note that the facilities granted to students to take into account their particular situation do not constitute a "right to exemption"

PROCEDURES

Students who are required to perform military service must consult the military department's deployment tables (press and posters) in September for the following year. In case of doubt, please contact:

Deposit the paper file in the red locker, 4th floor.

The request must be filled out in advance on the deplacement request form

Once the form has been filled in, students must contact the student secretariat of the computer science department in order to obtain an attestation: Battelle, bureau 330, rte de Drize 7, 1227 Carouge.

The form + the attestation from the DINFO department must be given to the liaison office advisor at least 4 months before the start of the course.

A judicious planning must be done. The earlier the application is made, the more likely it is to be successful.

APPLICATIONS FOR DEPLACEMENT OF MILITARY SERVICE SUBMITTED LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS PRIOR TO ENTRY INTO SERVICE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
