INFORMATION SESSION FOR thesis PART I AND PART II

The thesis (travail de fin d’études) of the third year university baccalaureate gives right to 14 ECTS credits and is composed of two parts.

Part I (1MEMINFO1)

The first part consists in defining the problematic of the final work.

 
The student must register for the course entitled "Thesis, part I (description and objectives of the work)" ("Travail de fin d’études, partie I (descriptif et objectifs du travail)") during the registration period for the courses and exams of the fall semester.
 
During the fall semester, he/she must find a professor or a MER who agrees to supervise his/her work (hereinafter referred to as supervisor) and define, in agreement with him/her, the subject of his/her work.
 
The evaluation of the first part is based on the assessment of the description of the problem and the objectives of the thesis. This description will be given to the supervisor using the appropriate form (Bachelor's thesis in Computer Science Part I / Travail de Bachelor en Sciences Informatiques Partie I).
 
The document must be submitted to the supervisor during the January/February examination session.
 
The evaluation results in the following grades: "passed" or "not passed". A grade of "passed" is required to register for the second part.
In case of "not passed", the student has a second and final attempt at the next exam session in January/February (loss of one year).

 

FORM PART I - BACHELOR'S THESIS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE (TRAVAIL BACHELOR EN SCIENCES INFORMATIQUES) - FALL 2022

Part II (1MEMINFO2)

The second part consists of writing the thesis on the basis of the announced problematic.
 
The student must register for the course entitled "Thesis, part II (final written work)" ("Travail de fin d’études, partie II (travail écrit final)") during the courses and exams registration period of the spring semester .
To do so, he/she must have satisfied paragraphs 5 and 6a of Art. A4 quinquies of the regulations for the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
 
During the spring semester, he/she must complete the second part of his/her work, which consists of a written report.
 
The student must submit his/her final written report to the supervisor at the May/June examination session.
 
The evaluation of the final report is marked with a grade ranging from 0 to 6, with 4 being sufficient.
If the grade is lower than 4, the student has a second and final attempt at the next examination session in May/June (loss of one year).
 

FORM PART II - BACHELOR'S THESIS (TRAVAIL DE FIN D'ETUDES) - SPRING 2023

The thesis is passed and the 14 ECTS credits acquired en bloc when the assessments of the first part and the second part are passed.
