MOBILITY GRANTS SEMP

Doctoral students at the University of Geneva can spend time in another institution within the framework of the SEMP (Swiss European Mobility Programmes) agreements or through bilateral agreements. It is also possible to go on a self-employed basis. The University's international affairs service is available to provide all the information necessary for a successful stay. The list of SEMP agreements can be found in the Panorama of exchange possibilities.

It is also possible for PhD students from abroad.

Co-supervision of thesis

The Secrétariat d’Etat à la formation, à la recherche et à l’innovation (SEFRI) provides financial support for such thesis projects within the framework of the programme, provided that they are the subject of a cooperation agreement between a Swiss university and a partner university abroad. Please refer to the UNIGE Directive for the setting up of a cooperation contract in the framework of an international thesis co-supervision.

The grant of up to CHF 10,000 is primarily intended to cover the travel and accommodation costs of the doctoral student and the thesis supervisor at the Swiss university. swissuniversities administers this programme. More information is available in the notice explicative.

PROJECT MOBILITY GRANTS

These mobility grants are intended for doctoral candidates who are employed in an ongoing SNSF research project and who wish to improve their scientific profile through a stay abroad.
