Doctoral program in Information Systems and Services Science

Information systems and services are an essential part of our everyday life, whether personal, social, or professional. They are also an invaluable tool for businesses by supporting their day-to-day processes, gathering business intelligence, and making strategic decisions, thus ultimately fostering digital innovation. These systems and services are changing our lives on the public, private, and international levels.

The Ph.D. program in Information Systems and Services Science is a cutting edge program, allowing PhD students to develop fundamental models and theories of these disciplines and to create, design, and produce tomorrow’s prototype information systems and digital services.

Our major areas of research cover e-Health, pervasive computing, indoor positioning and indoor navigation, object localization, mapping, GIS, mobile sensors analysis, security and privacy, risk and compliance, service-level agreements, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, service innovation, formal methods and design, systems evolution, quality and interoperability,  autonomous and self-adaptive systems, trust-based systems, data science, and predictive analysis.

The application domains include transdisciplinary business services, Ambient Assisted Living, mobile users services, travelling and mobility, gaming, data protection, intelligent documents, digital rights and policy management, e-government services and smart society, and finance and banking services.

Students enrolled in this program are also automatically members of the CUSO Doctoral School of Informatics. We also welcome and value part-time Ph.D. students.
