Dr Matthias SCHLAFFER
Post-doctorant, Feodor Lynen Research Fellow – Groupe Golling
Matthias is a postdoc in the group of Prof. Tobias Golling at the Particle Physics Department (DPNC). He is a member of the RODEM project (Robust Deep Density Models for High-Energy Physics and Solar Physics) and a Feodor Lynen research fellow of the Alexander-von-Humboldt foundation.
Matthias graduated from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in 2012 and finished his PhD in 2015 at DESY/University of Hamburg. He then worked as Postdoc at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel and at the University of Chicago before moving to Geneva. As a theorist, he worked on BSM phenomenology and searches for new physics at the LHC, and at future lepton colliders with a focus on Higgs physics. In recent years he worked on using machine learning for anomaly detection.
