Alessandro Chechi (PhD, European University Institute ; LLM University College London ; JD University of Siena) est chargé de cours suppléant (lecturer) à la Faculté de droit de l’Université de Genève (Centre du droit de l’art). Il est également lecturer à la Faculté de droit de l’Université catholique de Lille et à l’Académie de droit international humanitaire et de droits humains de Genève, et rapporteur pour le projet International Law in Domestic Courts (ILDC) de Oxford University Press.

Alessandro est membre du comité de rédaction de l’Italian Yearbook of International Law et de la Santander Art and Culture Law Review. Il a été consultant pour le Comité européen pour les problèmes criminels (CDPC) du Conseil de l’Europe pour la révision de la Convention sur les infractions visant les biens culturels. Alessandro est l’auteur de l’ouvrage The Settlement of International Cultural Heritage Disputes (Oxford University Press, 2014) et de plusieurs autres publications dans des livres édités et des revues. Actuellement, ses principaux domaines de recherche couvrent le droit international du patrimoine culturel, droit international, le règlement des différends internationaux, la justice transitionnelle, les organisations internationales, les droits humains et le droit des immunités internationales.

 


Biography

Alessandro Chechi (PhD, European University Institute; LLM University College London; JD University of Siena) is a lecturer (chargé de cours suppléant) at the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva (Art-Law Centre). He is also lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the Université Catholique of Lille and at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, and reporter for the International Law in Domestic Courts (ILDC) Oxford University Press project.

Alessandro is member of the editorial boards of the Italian Yearbook of International Law and of the Santander Art and Culture Law Review. He was consultant for the European Committee on Crime Problems (CDPC) of the Council of Europe for the revision of the Convention on Offences Relating to Cultural Property. Alessandro is the author of the book The Settlement of International Cultural Heritage Disputes (Oxford University Press, 2014) and several other publications in edited books and journals. Currently, his main research areas cover international cultural heritage law, international law, international dispute settlement, transitional justice, international organizations, human rights and the law of international immunities.
