WIPO-Unige Summer School 2015

WIPO-Unige Summer School 2015

The University of Geneva organized, with the World Intellectual Property Organization, the fifth WIPO-University of Geneva Summer School on Intellectual Property (Geneva, 22 June - 3 July 2015). The Summer School took place during the first week (22 - 26 June) at the WIPO headquarters, and during the second week (29 June - 3 July) at Unimail, in the premises of the Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva.

Fifty advanced students and young professionals, with a diverse background (from law to biology and interpretation), coming from more than twenty different countries attended the program.

The objective of the Summer School is to provide an opportunity for fifty advanced students and young professionals to acquire deeper knowledge of intellectual property, and to gain an appreciation of IP as a tool for economic, social, cultural and technological development and the role WIPO plays in the global administration of intellectual property.

The Summer School program covers all main areas of intellectual property (namely, patent law, trademarks, designs and copyright) through a pragmatic, interactive approach. Lecturers are intellectual property experts at WIPO, the University of Geneva, or other institutions.
