Professor SHI Jiayou

SHI Jiayou holds a doctorate in law from the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne) and Renmin University of China. He is an associate professor in private law at Renmin University of China, Executive Director of the National Center for Research on Civil and Commercial Law and Director of the Center for Research on Legal Systems in French-speaking Countries. He has been a visiting professor and co-supervisor at several European and North American universities, such as the University of Paris II, the University of Paris VIII, the University of Perpignan, the University of Toulouse, the University of Ottawa, and Laurentian University.

As well as authoring four works (including "La codification du droit civil chinois au regard de l'expérience française", published by LGDJ in 2006) and some forty articles, Prof. SHI Jiayou is also a member of the expert committees set up by the China Law Society in 2016 to draft new sections in the Chinese Civil Code pertaining to contract law and personality rights.
