Location and travel information

The fourth European Conference on Microfinance will be held from June 1-3, 2015 on Unimail Campus at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Unimail is located in Plainpalais; accessible from tram n°15 (tram stop Uni-Mail).

Arriving in Geneva

Geneva Airport is located 4 km from the city centre. There are excellent flight connections to Geneva. Several airlines provide direct flights to Geneva from all over Europe as well as from countries outside Europe. It can be easily reached by train or by bus using the united network of public transport. Tourist information can be obtained at the information counter in the arrivals hall of the airport.

Free bus ticket at the airport

When you arrive at the airport of Geneva you can get a free bus ticket. Before going through customs take a free ticket from the “Unireso” bus ticket dispenser found at the baggage-claim hall next to the train tickets vending machines. This ticket will allow you to use public transportation for 80 minutes within the Geneva region.

The airport train station is directly accessible from the airport Check-in and Arrivals levels. It takes only 6 minutes from/to Geneva city centre by train, leaving approximately every 12 minutes from the airport. Geneva Cornavin train station is the first stop. The free ticket you previously got is also valid for this itinerary.

Going to University of Geneva

Unimail is located in Plainpalais; accessible from tram n°15 (tram stop Uni-Mail). Only one ticket is required to travel by train, tram, bus or boat in the area France-Vaud-Geneva. If you are staying at a hotel or a youth hostel, the establishment will offer you the «Geneva Transport Card» that allows you to use public transport in Geneva free of charge during your whole stay.
