This performance results from the work of GEREx (the Geneva-Exeter Renaissance Exchange), which, with additional support from Shakespeare Bulletin, has since 2018 facilitated research collaborations between early modernists at the Universities of Exeter and Geneva. This work strand of GEREx brings together textual editors (Lukas Erne, Kareen Seidler, Maria Shmygol), performance specialists (Pascale Aebischer, Harry McCarthy) and a historian (Freyja Cox-Jensen) to explore how performance can shed light on textual cruxes and improve our understanding of adaptations of Shakespeare for early modern Germanophone audiences.
