Within the 10e LS class on ‘development in mathematics,’ focused on the inquiry based science education, the Geneva teachers have to assess  their students on the basis of the narration of their research (Bonafé & al, 2002). Our research bears on the study of the integration of sommative assessment tool with the aim of having a formative purpose for the development of competence in problem solving. The study will rely on the communities of inquiry, including teachers and researchers (Jaworski, 2013).
