Our team organizes workshops about the cognitive development of children for teachers. For example, we offer a workshop that consists of two parts.
In a first theoretical part, we give an introduction on cognitive development, development of our memory, and of working memory specifically, and how the limitations of working memory can influence behavior and learning in the classroom.
In a second practical part, the teachers work on concrete examples to understand the demands on working memory in different situations and tasks, to be able to identify behavior that can reflect low working memory capacity, and to think about how to address challenges in the classroom related to working memory functioning and overload.
