Different types of analyses of sediments and soil offered by the laboratories of the Institute include:

  • Granulometry by sieving (> 1 mm) and by laser diffraction (Coulter LS-100)
  • Magnetic susceptibility of sedimentary cores (Bartington susceptibilimeter )
  • Organic matter
  • Carbonates
  • Chemical forms of phosphorus
  • Analysis of metals traces by ICP-MS
  • Total mercury and methymercury
  • Radioisotopes (gamma and alpha: Be-7, Cs-137, Th-234, Pb-210, etc.) - sediment dating
