Where do you stand ? Evaluating the impact of conference interpreter training on positionality management


Conor is a professional freelance conference interpreter working principally for the international organisations in Geneva. Conor also works as a teaching and research assistant and PhD student at the FTI's Interpreting Department, where he has been involved in training conference interpreters in the Department's MA in Conference Interpreting. He has also worked as a trainer on the department’s MAS in Interpreter Training and the joint FTI-ICRC Basic Consecutive Interpreting Course. His research interests include interpreter positionality and ethics, and how interpreters manage their positionality in challenging interpreting environments.

Conor completed his undergraduate degree in Modern Languages (French and Spanish) at Trinity College, University of Oxford, before completing the MA in Conference Interpreting at the University of Geneva. He is currently undertaking a PhD at the FTI’s Interpreting Department.
