Traduction automatique du français vers les pictogrammes pour améliorer la communication entre médecins et patients avec une déficience intellectuelle en milieu hospitalier


Magali Norré is currently a PhD Candidate at the Department of Translation Technology (referred to by its French acronym TIM) of UNIGE and at Center for Natural Language Processing (Cental) of Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain) in Belgium. Her main research focuses on Text-to-Pictograph translation, the adaptation of the Dutch Text-to-Picto system to French and falls within the framework of PROPICTO, a collaborative project between the Université de Genève and the Université de Grenoble Alpes.

Before joining the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, she graduated from Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium with a Bachelor's Degree in French Philology. She earned a Master's Degree in Science and Technology of Information and Communication from ULB. Her master's thesis project focused on word prediction systems in augmentative and alternative communication softwares for disabled people. Magali also contributed to the BabelDr project with the development of an interface based on pictographs.
