Our colleague Mara Tignino, lecturer at the Faculty of Law and the Institute for Environmental Sciences and Lead Legal Specialist at the Geneva Water Hub, wrote a new article in the journal Questions of International Law

This paper, entitled « Corporate human rights due diligence and liability in armed conflicts : the Role of the ILC Draft Principles on the Protection of the Environment and the Draft UN Treaty on Business and Human Rights » argues that the principle of enhanced human rights due diligence is particularly adapted to the situations of armed conflicts and post-conflict settings. Given the sensitivity of these contexts, private companies could be more easily involved in violations of human rights law during and after armed conflicts. This principle could help to prevent these violations.

This paper has been published in the Questions of International Law in October 2021. Here the link : http://www.qil-qdi.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/04_Business-HR-_TIGNINO_FIN.pdf
