You are cordially invited to the launch of a new report by the United Nations Environment Programme, exploring sustainability challenges in sand extraction and consumption, organized within the framework of the Geneva Environment Network :

"Sand and Sustainability : Finding new solutions for environmental governance of global sand resources"
7 May 2019 | 13:15-15:00, International Environment House II

This report points to more effective management and regulation as demand for sand continues to grow. It comes weeks after the fourth United Nations Environment Assembly adopted a new resolution on mineral resource governance.

The lead author of the report is a GEDT researcher, Dr. Louise Gallagher. The report was produced in partnership with the university's Master in Innovation, Human Development and Sustainability.

More information about the event can be found on the Geneva Environment Network website. If you plan to attend this event, kindly register online.
