A Heartfelt Thank You to René Sieber
Some people teach a course. René Sieber built something that lasts.
For nearly four decades, he has been part of the University of Geneva's fabric — first as a lecturer in Finance from 1988, then as a core pillar of the GEMWeM program. His course on Fixed Income and Credit Risk became one of those classes students actually remember: theory grounded in real experience, taught by someone who spent 25 years running Dynagest S.A., one of Geneva's leading quantitative asset management firms.
René never stopped at the classroom door. He designed a partnership with Geneva Place Financière to open internship opportunities for GEMWeM students, co-directed the CAS in Quantitative Portfolio Management, and showed up — year after year — with his network, his rigour, and his time. Freely and generously.
This year marks the end of his teaching , and we wanted to make sure it didn't go unnoticed.
Last week we celebrated him the way he deserves: good people, good wine, and plenty of stories.
The title may change, but René stays very much part of the conversation. We look forward to crossing paths again — in Geneva and beyond.
