Trading Forum 2019: Remodeling Commodities Activity in an Optimal Ecosystem

In partnership with the GSEM, the Swiss Research Institute on Commodities organizes on Tuesday 9 April, the 11th edition of the Trading Forum. The theme of this year is “Remodeling Commodities Activity in an Optimal Ecosystem”.
The Trading Forum offers a unique platform for representatives of the commodity trading activity, NGOs/IOs, academia, experts and governement officials to discuss current issues and exchanges views. For more than 10 years, it has attracted numerous high-level professionals.
Three workshops will be organised, providing participants with the opportunity to choose from Business & Human Rights and Trade Finance, prior to the main and final workshop on Technology. These 3 workshop sessions will allow high-level exchanges on the future of commodity trading and allow participants to learn more about :
- How do companies incorporate human rights considerations into their business models;
- how traditional Trade Finance business models will be challenged by regulation and new technologies;
- how technology will evolve and impact companies' compliance systems;
- how technology will allow the development of a sustainable supply chain.
