Professor Diego Kuonen: A Statistical Engineer, Consultant, Academician and Wine & Soccer Enthusiast

“Human of Analytics“ captures personal stories of people working in Analytics industry who are looking to share their experiences and inspire young individuals and provoke conversations that matter.

The “Human of Analytics” team recently interacted with Prof. Diego Kuonen to know more about his interest for Statistics and his experience as professor of Data Science at the Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) and founder and CEO at Statoo Consulting.

“There is a lot to be done in both the domains: Business and Academics; and I am immensely proud to have the best of both worlds and try my best to bridge the gap between both worlds,” he says.

By using various channels like Twitter, LinkedIn and SlideShare, Prof. Kuonen wants to explain statistics and mathematics to an audience who do not always have a formal background on these domains.

“I tried to communicate the beauty of statistics to the masses, by educating people on statistical principles and analysis. I want above all for statistics to be seen for what it is actually about, and I always try to persuade people that statistics is the profession of the future and is at the heart of all things big and small these days,” explains Prof. Kuonen.
