Corporate Values Can Do More Harm Than Good

According to Raphaël H Cohen, Lecturer at the GSEM, few executives have understood that the corporate values that they publish often lead to the opposite result of the one they had in mind. In an article written for Forbes, Raphaël H Cohen explains this for two reasons. First, because what they call "values" are frequently behavioral injunctions and not really values. Second, even when values are actual values rather than expected behaviors, they are very rarely incarnated within the organizations that have included them in their list of values.
