Yujung Hwang receives the HCEO Dissertation Prize 2019

Dr. Yujung Hwang, who will soon be joining the GSEM as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Institute of Economics and Econometrics, has received the HCEO Dissertation Prize 2019 of the University of Chicago. Dr. Hwang's paper, "A General Equilibrium Analysis of Immigrants’ Neighborhood Sorting and Social Integration," examines how immigrants culturally assimilate and how people change prejudice against immigrants.

The Human Capital and Economic Opportunity (HCEO) Global Working Group offers an annual prize for the best doctoral dissertation on a topic related to one of HCEO’s 6 networks (Early Childhood Interventions; Family Inequality; Health Inequality; Identity and Personality; Inequality: Measurement, Interpretation, and Policy; and Markets).
