Quantifying Quality of Life, a book by Katarzyna Wac

GSEM Professor Katarzyna Wac has published a book on “Quantifying Quality of Life: Incorporating Daily Life into Medicine”, co-edited with Sharon Wulfovich.

This open access book presents the rise of technology-enabled methods and tools for objective, quantitative assessment of Quality of Life (QoL). It encompasses 24 chapters corresponding to 24 variables defined by the World Health Organization as contributing to Quality of Life.

This book is an in-depth resource describing and examining state-of-the-art, minimally obtrusive, ubiquitous technologies in areas as diverse as mobility, nutrition, sleep, self-esteem, and meditation. Highlighting the required factors for adoption and scaling of technology-enabled methods and tools for QoL assessment, it also describes how these technologies can be leveraged for behavior changes, disease prevention, health management, and long-term QoL enhancement in populations at large.
