Sebastian Raisch receives the Academy of Management Annals Decade Award 2026
Professor Sebastian Raisch has received the 2026 Academy of Management Annals Decade Award for the article “Paradox Research in Management Science: Looking Back to Move Forward”, published in Academy of Management Annals in 2016 and co-authored with Jonathan Schad, Marianne W. Lewis and Wendy K. Smith.
The Decade Awards are among the Academy of Management’s most prestigious distinctions. Each year, they recognize the article published in one of the Academy’s three flagship journals that has received the highest number of citations during the ten years following its publication.
The award-winning article provides a comprehensive review of paradox research in management science, a field that examines the persistent tensions organizations face. Through a structured review of the literature, the authors identify key themes shaping paradox research and outline future directions for advancing the field.
Sebastian Raisch is a professor of Strategy at the GSEM, and his research focuses on how large firms cope with the tensions between stability and change in their corporate development.
