Katarzyna Wac selected as a leading expert to the European Commission’s AI Act Scientific Panel

Professor Katarzyna Wac has been selected as one of 60 world-leading independent experts to join the AI Act Scientific Panel, in recognition of her expertise in artificial intelligence and digital health.

Established by the European Commission, the panel supports the implementation of the AI Act and advises on the risks and impacts of General-Purpose AI (GPAI) models, including their classification, evaluation, and market oversight. The experts are appointed for a renewable 24-month term, advising the European Commission and national authorities.

Professor Wac is a Full Professor at the Research Institute for Statistics and Information Science .Her research focuses on digital health, human-centered computing, and data-driven approaches to improving quality of life.
