Geneva Trialogue: Scaling Open Innovation for the SDGs

The University of Geneva in collaboration with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), will be hosting the third Geneva Trialogue online on Thursday 18 March. The theme for this year is “Scaling Open Innovation for the SDGs”.

Participants can attend and interact in seven online thematic panel discussions. Several GSEM members have joined the initiative and have been invited to speak at the event.

At 10:00 am, Prof. Tina Ambos, from the Institute of Management, will be part of “Open Innovation in the UN Geneva ecosystem”. The session will look at the open innovation ecosystem that is evolving in International Organizations in Geneva, and between them and the academic and business sectors in the region.

At 14:00 pm, Prof. Giuseppe Ugazio, from the Geneva Finance Research Institute, will be part of the panel on "Blended Finance for Open Innovation and SDGs", discussing the role of philanthropy in supporting education for the SDGs.

At 17:00 pm, Nadine Reichenthal, from the UNIGE Entrepreneurship Lab, will participate in the panel on "Helping Youth Innovators turn Ideas into Action", reflecting on maximizing youth innovation projects’ capacities to help them reach their full potential.

Open Geneva Festival: Festival d’innovation ouverte
18-28 March | Online

The Geneva Trialogue marks the start of the Open Geneva festival, running from 18-28 March, where the Trialogue sessions will continue as a series of hands-on workshops and hackathons. Open Geneva is chaired by Prof. Thomas Maillart, from the Information Science Institute, and was formed in 2015 in collaboration with the University of Geneva. The festival promotes open innovation to improve the quality of life in Geneva using open data.
