The University of Geneva (UNIGE) is joining the 4EU+ European University Alliance Association, formed by Charles University (Prague), Sorbonne University (Paris), and the University of Copenhagen, University of Heidelberg, University of Milan, University of Warsaw. The UNIGE will thus participate in the joint projects of these institutions from the start of the 2022-2023 academic year. The members of the alliance share common goals of high-quality teaching and cutting-edge multidisciplinary research at the service of society. On 5 and 6 September, Isabelle Kraft, 4EU+ Secretary General, and Elena Del Giorgio, 4EU+ project officer, came to UNIGE to present the 4EU+ alliance as well as the many opportunities that it offers to the Direction, the faculties, the interfaculty centers and members of the staff

In addition to the functioning of the alliance, the team presented the 4 flagships of 4EU+:

· Flagship 1: Urban Health and Demographic Change

· Flagship 2: Europeanness: multilingualism, pluralities, citizenship

· Flagship 3: Digitisation – Modelling - Transformation

· Flagship 4: Environmental transitions

The member universities have already organised more than 60 activities around these key themes. The UNIGE and its faculties have now a powerful tool to participate in these projects and, consequently, in the wider European research and education scene.

We warmly thank Elena Del Giorgio and Isabelle Kraft for these fruitful exchanges and look forward to collaborating with all the member universities.
