Agreements by country
The University of Geneva has more than 400 partner institutions in 73 countries around the world, on all continents. Europe represents the densest region in terms of international collaborations, with 300 partners in 35 countries. With 50 institutions, the highest number of partners is in France, followed by two other neighbouring countries, Germany and Italy. The vast majority of collaboration agreements allow academic mobility thanks to which around 600 UNIGE students study abroad on an exchange basis each year, and more than 800 others come here for a semester or two. For more details on the number and type of agreements, please click here.
Please also find below the list of UNIGE partner institutions, by country, outside the Swiss-European Mobility Program (SEMP) which is managed by the Academic Exchange Office. The agreements below with the comment "without exchange" have been signed for scientific projects without external funding (research projects with funding are managed by the Research and Grants Office).
Please note that this list is for reference only and is updated occasionally. For student mobility, please refer to the Panorama database with the full list of updated agreements and details.
Remark: Given the current geopolitical situation, outbound mobility is suspended to Lebanon and Israel. These options no longer appear in the Panorama database. However, as the agreements are not suspended and the inbound mobility is maintained, they appear in the list below.
