Nobel Prize Winners Give Geneva Lecture on Peacemaking

Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Martti Ahtisaari and José Ramos-Horta are set to take part in a lecture on peacemaking at the Palais des Nations, Geneva.

The lecture, called “Complexities of Peacemaking: The Untold Story”, will take place on Wednesday 13 November 2013 under the auspices of United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG) and the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

The event is part of the Geneva Lecture Series, a cycle of regular lectures at the Geneva UN headquarters which aim to explore burning issues on the global agenda with a focus on how individuals can contribute to resolving such challenges.

Launched in 2008 by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, the lectures are not only open to the diplomatic community but also to the wider public.

Topics covered in previous lectures include human rightsintercultural dialogue, and how new technologies will impact development, all themes closely related to InZone’s mission.
