Rising for Justice in Kakuma
InZone partner FilmAid is taking part in “One Billion Rising for Justice” on 14 February 2014.
FilmAid is taking part in “One Billion Rising for Justice”, a campaign calling for millions of people to get together and speak out against gender violence on 14 February 2013.
The global initiative is organised by V-day and will see people all over the world get together outside courts, police stations, embassies and other places of justice in order to share their personal stories through art and dance.
FilmAid will be part of the campaign with its “Do Good Feel Good” event, to be held at Sitatunga, Kakuma. The event aims to raise awareness about the many challenges faced by women and girls and to encourage men to think about women’s roles in their lives.
Founded in 1999, FilmAid produces and distributes community-based films, disseminating critical health and safety information in East Africa, Asia and Haiti. In so doing, FilmAid provides psychological relief and media training for refugees and people in need.
