InZone joins INEE Working Group on Minimum Standards and Network Tools
Group aims to facilitate access to quality education in emergencies for all
InZone is pleased to announce that it has been selected to participate in the INEE Working Group on Minimum Standards and Network Tools for the biennium 2015-2017.
The group was founded in 2004 by the Inter-Agency Network for Education in Emergencies, and comprises some 30 partners, including representatives of NGOs (such as JRS, NRC, the RET, and the Sphere Project), UN agencies (UNESCO, UNRWA) and university partners (Columbia University, University of Tromso).
The 2015-2017 group will work to develop innovative, sustainable strategies to promote professionalization, capacity building, policy and good practice in emergency and post-conflict settings.
The first meeting of the group will be held in Geneva on October 19-20, 2015. It will be followed by an Open Round Table on “The Role of Education and Youth in Preventing Urban Violence and Countering Violent Extremism” hosted by the INEE Working Group on Education and Fragility and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR). Limited spots are available for external participants who would like to join the Round Table: further information is available here.
