Humanitarian field interpreters work in a variety of contexts, many of them characterized by informality and inadequate protection. In this strand of research InZone analyses protection of humanitarian interpreters within the context of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and other international instruments that constitute labour law, such as conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO), in an effort to develop a framework that provides adequate protection for interpreters in the field.
