Barbara Moser-Mercer










Barbara is the founding director of InZone, and she was the head of the Interpretation Department of the University of Geneva for twenty years. Her research focuses on the cognitive and neuro-cognitive aspects of the interpretation process, as well as on the place of human performance in the development of these capacities. Among the milestones of her personal and academic journey lies the creation of the Virtual Institute, the first virtual learning environment for interpreters, which constitutes the cornerstone of the InZone project. In addition to this major contribution, Barbara Moser-Mercer was a member of the High Level Group on Multilingualism of European Commissioner Leonard Orban, and remains active as a conference interpreter.
