Francesco E.A. Jannetta completed his BA and MA degrees at the University of Basel. His MA thesis “All My Literary Relations: Bakhtinian Dialogism and Heteroglossia in Contemporary ‘Minor Literatures’ of Selected North American Aboriginal Authors” focused on the dialogism between present-day North American Indigenous literatures, North American Indigenous oral traditions, and contemporary non-Indigenous texts. His PhD project revolves around the critique of settler-colonial oppression in North America by analyzing unreliable narrators in non-Indigenous fiction through the lens of Indigenous trickster figures. His general research foci mainly consist of North American Indigenous literatures, narratology, Postcolonial literatures, and gender in literature.
