Christiania Whitehead taught Middle English Literature for twenty years at the University of Warwick, UK, before moving to Switzerland, where she recently participated in an SNSF-funded research project titled Region and Nation: Late Medieval Devotion to Saints from the North of England at the University of Lausanne (2016-20). She specialises in medieval religious writing, in particular, devotional and mystical writing for and by women, hagiography, lyric poetry, and allegory.
