Postdoctoral Researcher

Personal website: www.francoisjaquet.com

I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Montreal's Centre de recherche en éthique, with a project titled "Debunking Arguments in Animal Ethics" funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.

Previously, I was a postdoctoral fellow of the Centre de recherche en éthique for a year. The research I conducted as part of this fellowship also pertained to animal ethics.

In 2017-2019, I was a postdoc at the universities of Birmingham and Stockholm with another SNSF grant. In the project “Normative Issues in Metaethics", I investigated the normative implications of the moral error theory.

In 2016-2017, I was a postdoc at the University of Geneva's Centre Interfacultaire en Sciences Affectives. In the project "Beyond Sacrificial Dilemmas: Broadening the Psychology of Consequentialism”, Florian Cova and I tested Joshua Greene's dual-process model of moral judgment with thought experiments that do not involve sacrificial dilemmas.

In 2016, I received a PhD from the University of Geneva for a thesis entitled "Utilitarianism for the Error Theorist". This work was supervised by Prof. Julien Deonna.
