"Ring of fire": actin ruffling in two living cells

Membrane ruffling in two live human cells labelled in fluorescence. These migrating cells were cultured in vitro and expressed a GFP-actin fluorescent fusion protein. This fluorescent tool allowed to observe the formation of motile cell surfaces containing a meshwork of newly polymerized actin filaments.  (Image source: © Bioimaging)
