CRTOH steering committee member Intidhar Labidi-Galy appointed president of new SAKK Gynecological Cancer Project Group

The Translational Research Center in Onco-Hematology (CRTOH) is pleased to congratulate Professor Intidhar Labidi-Galy on her appointment as President of the newly established Gynecological Cancer Project Group of the Swiss Group for Clinical Cancer Research (SAKK).

A member of the CRTOH Steering Committee, Professor Labidi-Galy has been entrusted with leading this new national initiative, which aims to advance innovative clinical and translational research in gynecological cancers. The project group replaces the former ad hoc working group and will strengthen collaborations with leading European research networks, including ENGOT and EORTC, to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries into improved patient care.

Professor Labidi-Galy is an oncologist and physician-scientist with extensive expertise in gynecological cancers and tumor immunology. At Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), she leads activities dedicated to gynecological oncology and actively contributes to the development of clinical research programmes in precision medicine, immunotherapy, and innovative therapeutic approaches.

Her research group at the University of Geneva focuses on precision medicine and the tumor microenvironment in women's cancers, particularly those associated with inherited BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations. By integrating genomic analyses with studies of the immune landscape of tumors, her team seeks to identify new therapeutic targets and develop more effective personalized treatments.

Within CRTOH, Professor Labidi-Galy plays a key role in fostering interactions between fundamental, translational, and clinical research. Her appointment to lead the SAKK Gynecological Cancer Project Group highlights both her scientific leadership and the growing impact of CRTOH members in shaping cancer research at the national and international levels.
