Open Positions in Diabetes Footwear Research
The research team led by Dr. Zoltan Pataky, specialist in obesity, diabetes, and therapeutic education at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Geneva and HUG – Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève, is opening two positions for an exciting collaborative project with the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and KLAB-Geneva.
The Project
This SNSF-funded, 4-year project aims to develop smart footwear and conduct a clinical trial evaluating innovative off-loading technology in diabetic patients. The goal is to prevent foot ulcers and amputations through cutting-edge, patient-centered innovation. The project brings together a multidisciplinary team of medical doctors, engineers, orthopaedic shoemakers, and foot biomechanics specialists.
Doctoral Position
Candidates should hold a master’s degree (or equivalent) in biomechanics, movement sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related discipline. Experience or strong interest in foot biomechanics, diabetes complications, or amputation prevention is essential. Proficiency in French (mandatory) and English is required.
Postdoctoral or Advanced Research Position
Applications are invited from early-career scientists with a strong track record or interest in foot pressure offloading and lower-limb amputation prevention in diabetes.
