GCIR Welcomes Two New Steering Committee Members
The Geneva Centre for Inflammation Research is pleased to announce the election of Professor Kimberly Kline and Professor Simone Becattini as new members of the GCIR Steering Committee.
The election was conducted among GCIR members, and both candidates received strong support from the community.
Professor Simone Becattini is an expert in host–microbiota interactions, intestinal inflammation, and mucosal immunology. His research contributes a systems-level perspective that bridges microbiology, immunology, and translational gut health research.
Professor Kimberly Kline is internationally recognised for her work in bacterial pathogenesis and host–microbe interactions. Her expertise brings a strong translational perspective on infectious disease biology, antimicrobial resistance, and immune evasion mechanisms relevant to clinically important pathogens.
The addition of Professors Kline and Becattini further broadens the scientific expertise represented within the Steering Committee and reinforces GCIR’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research in inflammation, infection, and immunity.
