Chamber from outside

The walk-in Climate Chamber (FitoClima 12000, Clitec) maintains precise temperature, humidity and the day/night cycle. The space inside the Climate Chamber permits performing experiments and measurements under controlled, precise, and stable environmental conditions, that is particularly important for behavioral tests

Microinjection system (injector Eppendorf FemtoJet-4i, inverted phase contrast microscope Zeiss Axiovert 40C) for creating transgenic flies

Microtomes (Reichert-Jung Ultracut) for histological analysis of ultrathin slices. Used to belong to the electron microscopy facility of the Nobel laureate Jacques Dubochet, University of Lausanne.

Thermostats (Panasonic MIR-554-PE) keep precise temperature and the day/night cycle and are also applicable for the routine fly work (maintaining fly stocks and keeping regular crosses)

5 work stations (equipped with Stereomicroscopes Zeiss Stemi 2000 and supplied with CO2 anesthetizer pads) for the daily work with Drosophila flies. Also shown on the photo: a Fluorescent Stereomicroscope (Zeiss Discovery V8) for monitoring and selection of transgenic flies modified with fluorescent tags and markers.
