Impact of cerebral damage on spatial attention

The main research interest of our group is to analyse cognitive processes that enable humans to build a coherent representation of space, to describe the impact of cerebral damage on spatial attention, and to develop treatment strategies for deficits of visual-spatial attention. We are studying the functional characteristics of spatial neglect, spatial extinction, and optic ataxia that are common consequences of parietal brain damage. The techniques used to study these phenomena involve measures of reaction time, eye movements, or 3D-motion analysis.
