PhD defence of Mrs Estelle Ifrid

On March 30th, Mrs Estelle Ifrid sucessfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "Chemical modulation of bacterial intracellular killing in Dictyostelium discoideum". Her thesis was conducted under the direction of Prof. Pierre Cosson from the Department of Cell physiology and metabolism.

Inhibitors of bacterial virulence are a promising alternative for the effective control of resistant pathogens. During her Phd thesis, Estelle IFRID has provided new insights into the mechanisms of action of anti-virulence compounds with Dictyostelium discoideum as a model. She is now trying to move into industry.
