April 4 2023: PhD defence of Mrs Mayis Kaba Lunghi

On the 4th of April , Mrs Mayis Kaba Lunghi succesfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "The role of phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins Nir2 and Nir3 during phagocytosis". Her thesis was conducted under the direction of Pr. Nicolas Demaurex from the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism.

Phagocytosis, the process in which a cell engulfs a particle to kill it, plays a crucial role in both innate and acquired immunity, as well as in tissue homeostasis. The PhD thesis of Mayis Kaba Lunghi aimed to explore the role of two specific lipid transfer proteins, Nir2 and Nir3, in the regulation of phagocytosis.
