In memory of Professeur Lelio ORCI

The Department of Cell Physiology & Metabolism learned with great sadness of the death, on 22 October 2019, at the age of 82, of Honorary Professor Lelio Orci, director of the PHYM Department for many years and prominent member of the Geneva, Swiss and international academic community.

Lelio Orci will remain the tireless and inventive researcher who brought the art of electron microscopy to its peak to study the relationship between cell structure and function. In 2008, the UNIGE awarded him a doctorate honoris causa.
