An inspiring seminar from Prof. Orsolya Barabas
On Tuesday 14th of September , Prof. Orsolya Barabas from the Department of Molecular Biology, University of Geneva, invited by Prof. Anne-Claude Gavin gav a conference entitled “How genes jump: from structural insights to genome engineering applications of mobile DNA”.
During her inspiring conference, she presented her recent findings on DNA transposons and their potential applications as genetic tools and therapeutic options.
Her research group uses structural, biochemical and cell biology approaches to investigate how DNA rearrangements are carried out and regulated, using this knowledge to advance applications in research and medicine. For more details, see her website.
